Galitta Tassa is a creative inspirer, performing artist and personal guide. Born in Jerusalem and raised with Yemenite Hebrew traditions, Galitta combines a diverse range of knowledge, skills and arts to help people discover their inner barriers to personal growth and overcome them.

As a singer/songwriter, author, producer and originator of the Inner Quest, she combines knowledge of many traditional and modern arts in her program to build personal fulfillment, leadership, and happiness.

One of her most popular quests is helping people find balance by reconnecting with their Fe/maleness to reintegrate right-brain prominence in the inner yin/yang relationship.

Regularly travelling across the globe to perform at festivals and events, she also organizes seminar at her studio, Fertile Ground in Amsterdam, where Galitta investigates the power that the theatrical arts and creativity to strengthen people to create new community.

Extended biography

Galitta Tassa was born in Jerusalem in the summer of 1968.
She grew up in a moshav – a cooperative village – in a community of Yemenite Hebrews who came to Israel during operation ‘Flying Carpet’. The unique Yemeni cultural traditions of singing, poetry, dance, embroidery, precious metalwork and play remain an inspirational base of her daily and spiritual life, providing the grounding for energy, Quest, and views on the potential for a harmonious communal society.

In addition she has also gained knowledge, inspiration and guidance from Shamanism, sound healing, the Kabbala, psychology, mythology, Eastern philosophy, mysticism, meditation, anthropology, Commedia dell’arte, tribal storytelling and history.

 

Her earliest years were spent in a village surrounded by pomegranate trees and cats that all had the same name. At the age of nine, Galitta discovered the rich cultural life of Jerusalem where she was sent for dancing lessons. At the age of ten, she wrote, produced and performed her first play. Since then she’s studied theatrical arts, performed as a singer and dancer, and created unique cultural events. When 21 years old, Galitta moved to Amsterdam where she now has her home, family, studio, Foundation and practice.

Galitta started her own production company in 1992, in Amsterdam, with which she created and performed in theatrical shows from jazz lounge acts, big band show tunes, and special dinner shows with a cast and crew of 21 people.
However, after a personal crisis forced Galitta to stop work, she went on a personal journey of self-discovery that became the founding inspiration for her empowerment method Your 4 Voices. Later, she founded the Fertile Ground Alliance, the Fertile Ground Foundation and the Goddessa projects.

In her self-empowerment Quest, Galitta seeks to help people bring together the meeting points of male and female consciousness, the East and West, the physical and the astral aspects of body and mind.

Galitta Tassa is in de zomer van 1968 in Jeruzalem geboren. Ze groeide op in een mosjav, een dorp met een coöperatieve gemeenschap van Joden uit Jemen die met operatie ‘Vliegend Tapijt’ in Israël gekomen waren, met heel veel granaatappelbomen en een heleboel katten die allemaal hetzelfde heetten. De oude Jemenitische cultuur, de kunsten en ambachten van zang, poëzie, dans, borduurkunst, edelsmederij en spel, maken deel uit van het dagelijkse leven en van het geestelijke leven.
Op negenjarige leeftijd ontdekte Galitta het rijke culturele leven van Jeruzalem, toen ze daar naar dansles gestuurd werd. Op tienjarige leeftijd produceerde en speelde zij in het eerste toneelstuk dat zij had geschreven. Sinds die tijd werkt zij en studeert zij de theaterkunsten. Tussen haar zestiende en eenentwintigste creërde Galitta cultureel/sociale evenementen. Vanaf haar eenentwintigste woont Galitta in Amsterdam, waar zij haar huis, gezin, bedrijf en gezelschap heeft gesticht.

Uitvoerend kunstenares Galitta Tassa maakt zintuigelijke voorstellingen/projecten die opgebouwd zijn uit een script/verhaal, zang/muziek, beeld en uitvoering die zij schrijft, componeert en vormgeeft. Als performer maakt Galitta gebruik van humor, dialoog en stemmenspel met het publiek zodat de exploratie plezierig is. Op die manier ontstaan er mogelijkheden om het bewustzijn van jezelf en van de totaliteit te verdiepen. Om deze reden zijn de meeste projecten samengesteld uit kleinere projecten. een deel ervan betrekt het publiek en de gemeenschap erbij. Galitta werkt met muziek, stem, theater, beweging, legendes, illustraties en sinds kort ook met video.

Galitta onderzoekt in haar werk de kracht van de kunsten van het theater, van de creatieviteit, de verbeelding om de mens te versterken.
Galitta zoekt het kruispunt op van mannelijk en vrouwelijk, oost en west, fysiek en astraal lichaam, kunst en bewustzijn.
Daarnaast onderzoekt zij en krijgt zij inspiratie uit sjamanisme, sound healing, kabbala, psychologie, mythologie, Oosterse filosofie, mystiek, meditatie, antropologie, Commedia della Arte, tribale verhalen en geschiedenis.
Bij ieder project werkt Galitta met een ploeg mensen die zij speciaal voor dat project heeft uitgekozen. Het creatieve samenstellingsproces en de gezamenlijke ontwikkeling zijn onderdeel van het project.
